📲 WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called Channels.Mark Zuckerberg’s social media company, Meta Platforms Inc. has added a new feature to WhatsApp which allow users to follow people and organisations that matter to them.Channels allow one-to-many broadcasts and are designed for sharing updates rather than engaging in conversations. It serves as a private alternative for governments, brands, transit agencies, and others to share important information.Users can send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls through channels.WhatsApp plans to incorporate payment and monetization services into channels.Channels can be found through search or browsing in a dedicated directory and their updates are visible in the Status section.Privacy is emphasized, with channel admins’ information not being shared, a 30-day history storage limit, and the ability to block screenshots and forwards.Channels are not end-to-end encrypted currently, but WhatsApp is considering adding encryption to some channels in the future.#WhatsAppChannels
